This Generation

GUEST BLOG// This blog was written by Nathan McKay. You can follow him on Twitter @themckaybros – Nathan is an independent filmmaker and a close friend of mine. He has engineered all of the video shooting and editing for the episodes posted here on DMD. I am forever grateful for his work and servant’s heart. His first film is being released in a premiere in Cleveland at the end of April. The movie is called The Pocketwatch. You can check out the website at (I am in this film as well). You will be blessed by his writing. — […]

Episode 30

Jesus Christ commissioned His church to make disciples. This is the only way that world evangelization can become a reality. Yet, as we have said from the beginning, only disciples can make disciples. In today’s episode, we examine clearly the definition of a disciple drawn from Jesus’ words in John 15. At the heart of every church should be disciple making. It must be first priority for us all. This is PART 1 of a two-part teaching around the disciple’s profile. Part 2 (Episode 31) will follow soon. Take out your Bibles and turn to John 15. Let’s begin!

A Recovery of Personal Ministry

There is a real Holy Spirit. There is also a real counterfeit. There is real salvation. There is also real damnation.  So let’s begin this way. Just because we have had tragic experiences around others before surrounding the work and person of what they considered the Holy Spirit to be doesn’t discredit who He is and what He does.  He is God. Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. I am continually concerned with the way I see the Holy Spirit viewed in our churches today. Let’s remind ourselves again. The Holy Spirit is a personal being just as […]

As I was teaching this material in DMD School of Ministry yesterday, I was compelled to take it and minimize it to share a few thoughts with you. In the Great Commission text of Matthew 28:19-20 (that serves as a foundation for DiscipleMakingDisciples), the qualifier of Jesus to make disciples was “teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” I think we all know that obedience does not come naturally to our lives. We must be taught to be obedient. And disciples must obey. What really challenges us is that we discover that Jesus links obedience to love.  Consider […]

My Conversion

On February 10, 2002 the grace of God impinged upon my life. It was almost a month later on March 8 at Winterfest Youth Conference that the Father initiated my salvation, the Son ratified my salvation, and the Holy Spirit communicated that salvation. From that moment, everything changed. This is the story. I could not be any more thankful for this video. It is a miracle in itself that we found the actual footage of my conversion with my head down on that stage that Friday night. When filming this video a few weeks ago, I told Nathan McKay that […]
